If you are a skinny person wanting to build body mass there are certain principles that you need to apply otherwise you will not succeed in increasing your body mass. Increasing your body mass will not only improves your body physique but it will also increase your psychological health. When increasing your body mass you should focus on increasing your muscle tissues and not your body fat. Proteins are the building blocks of muscles and if you do not take sufficient amounts of proteins you will not be able to achieve muscle growth. There are a variety of foods which are rich in proteins such as eggs, milk, cheese, legumes, chicken and red meat. The diet you take should comprise mostly of proteins so that your muscles can be able to recuperate after the intense training.

You also need to lift weights if you are to succeed in increasing your body mass. The training regimen you use should focus on using heavy weights with few reps. the training session should also be very intense so that you can be able to stimulate muscle growth. If you do not use very heavy weights your progress will be very slow. Your training routine should also include techniques such as progressive resistance training and the use of compound movements. When undertaking compound movement exercises you should focus on using free weights so that you can be able to stimulate the growth of many groups of muscles at the same time.

Resting is also very important if you want to increase your body mass. The reason is because when you rest your body catabolism will increase. If you do not rest after working out and also when sleeping then you will not be able to increase your body mass. You need to ensure that you sleep for at least eight hours each night so that you can be able to get adequate rest.
